dressed up like a lady: There must be a story here...

May 19, 2009

There must be a story here...

Well, my best friend, close neighbor, and favorite photo-blogger Ryan Hyde got some new equipment recently -- namely, an off-camera flash set-up. So of course, what better way to test the stuff out than to set it up in our apartment courtyard in the dark, with me in a 50's prom dress.

Vintage Dress: Timeless Vixen

Ryan was running around like a mad genius, setting up every shot to work perfectly. He even stuck a stool in the middle of the courtyard's decorative rock pile, so I could pose for awkward, Sears Portrait Studio-esque prom pictures.

Seriously, the lighting totally makes these boulders look like they're paper mache.

Meanwhile, I get bored easily, and it was cold as the innermost circle of hell out there. So I developed my prom queen's story a little bit further.

 Her date stood her up.

She had a gigantic temper tantrum.

Got wasted on Nyquil and qualudes and had a lovely evening sitting in the middle of the football field.

All by herself.

  48. These are awesome photos and you are indeed dressed up like a lady! Personally I go for Indian or Asian inspired dresses. Especially the glamourous ones that they wear on their weddings. This is why I often check out this Asian Wedding Directory for some explicit designs. Simply beautiful!
