dressed up like a lady: Foofy foofy

Foofy foofy

I never thought I'd take fashion inspiration from butch, 1980's business women, but that's kind of what I liked about this ginormous blouse. I'd like to think the look is a little more Annie Lennox inspired, but if I'm being honest, most of the time I'm desperately trying to look like Brigitte Nielsen in Beverly Hills Cop II.
Blouse: Thrifted
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Steve Madden
Jacket: UO
Bag: Thrifted

Secret beauty tip: use magnifying glasses to make your eyes look bigger! (Just kidding).

I'm actually kind of obsessed with lorgnettes, and have a small collection of them. Such a pretty way to handle something as mundane as reading glasses. Sadly (or rather, fortunately), I do not require reading glasses, so these are purely decorative.

  5. What an interesting thing to collect- I love vintage compacts. Ladies' purses were filled with such sweet little things back in the day. Now we stuff wads of inelegant junk in there... thanks for the vintage eyeglass lesson!

  14. The vest makes the shirt look so geometric. It's like you have rhombuses (rhombi?) around your wrists. But in a really cool way.

  26. It is funny that I came across this post through your retrospective considering your jacket in it looks quite similar to a Dorothy Perkins jacket I've been pining that I had up another screen.
