dressed up like a lady: Bad luck isn't brought by broken mirrors...

Bad luck isn't brought by broken mirrors...

I got a brand new (or rather, brand old) vintage 1950's tulle prom dress from the Getup this weekend, so naturally, the next step was to have a photoshoot with my bestest friend, the imitable photo blogger Ryan Hyde.

It took approximately 2 minutes for the concept of the shoot to turn wild and dramatic. After all, I was wearing a prom dress at an abandoned factory, if that doesn't sound like it's in the neighborhood of David Lynch and Dario Argento, I just don't know what does.

So yeah, that whole "wild and dramatic" vibe got particularly out of hand when I decided to smear my makeup and stage a death scene. I was shooting for a homage to Twin Peaks or something, but without any plastic wrap or Kyle MacLachlan, the tribute was mostly in spirit.

But anyway, it was a ton of fun, and I had the smirk to prove it. Hope we can do another shoot soon.

  31. Oh! The ballerina in me loves this
dress. The cloud quality, the ethereal flow of it. Yes. And the
eerie fragrance of the shoot in
    the later pictures also appeals
    to this melancholy poet.
