dressed up like a lady: Factory girl.

Feb 1, 2010

Factory girl.

Zingerman's opened a cafe store-front for their Coffee Company, providing me with an additional location for snapping morning outfit pics. Plus, check out the super industrial funhouse where they roast the beans!

Speaking of industry: the unsustainable nature of cheap, mass produced garments is a relevant issue. However, the fact remains that although reviewing movies is an awesome job, it doesn't leave me with a ton of cash to spend (but while we're on the topic, go see Youth in Revolt!). Thus, the clearance rack at Urban Outfitters remains my friend, and no amount of indie cred can keep me away from it.

I stumbled into the store this weekend just when they were having a half-off-all-clearance sale, and came away with an awesomely weird dress. It's a cross between a fluffy tutu and something worn by the madame in an old west brothel. I can't wait to snap some pics of it! But in the meantime, here's another of my favorite clearance finds. This super comfy romper is a terrycloth robe away from being pajamas.

Purple silk romper: UO
Shoes: Steve Madden
Air Force shirt (with a name tag that says QUEEN(!)): Thrifted

  4. Awesome how you look so chic and put together while being comfortable. The background makes up half of the fun in these pictures!

Can't wait to see the brothel tutu; best of both worlds! Thanks for your comment on my past post, btw. :)

  6. I totally feel you on the UO clearance rack thing. I usually meander straight to the clearance racks and I look at all the nice things I can't afford on my way back out. I think I have those shoes, or the cheaper version of them. Love your blog!

  7. I love that romper! And terrycloth rompers are the best! And the coffee shop is super cool.. I know what you mean about being suckered into buying mass produced sale items, blah!

And I'm so so so excited to see Youth in Revolt. My friend Max wrote the screenplay for this movie about messed up teenagers and he and his director/partner cast the main girl from Youth in Revolt in their movie! It makes me feel six degrees of separation from Michael Cera (my creepy crush.)
