dressed up like a lady: Rock the dirndl (of love).

Rock the dirndl (of love).

Most of the time, if you ask me about my heritage, I'll tell you about the Swedes who populate my family tree. However, the only grandparent that actually lived to see my birth is my maternal grandmother -- who is quite German. So here's a dirndl to honor the Swedish-Lower Saxon alliance of my grandma and grandpa. We're all peoples of Midgard, after all.

Dirndl: Vintage via the Getup
Camisole: Rodarte for Target
Shoes: Miss Me
Boleyn style necklace: Duchessa

  3. dirndl's are so much fun. my mother in law lives in an old dirndl factory...it's great people still seriously wear them in some parts of the world.

  5. That's an incredibly attractive dirndl and you wear it so well.

I'm of German ancestry too, but instead of dirndls, my parents put me in lederhosen. Not what a young American kid wants but, in retrospect, it's nice to touch one's cultural heritage.
