dressed up like a lady: Hold onto your effing hat.

Nov 11, 2011

Hold onto your effing hat.

Seriously, the wind was blowing up something fierce while we were taking these. Beautiful day though, for a little more 1930's style, filtered through 1970's style.

Plaid wool skirt: Vintage
Turtleneck: Target
Wool cloche hat: UO
Shoes: Charles David via TJ Maxx
Bamboo fiber tights: E.G. Smith via Sockdreams
Scarf and belt: Thrifted

Inspiration photo, from a November 1974 issue of Petticoat:

Sweater: JCrew
Shirt: Brooks Brothers
Harris Tweed Jacket: Thrifted
Sunglasses: Ray Bans

We've got a fun weekend ahead of us. MC is playing trumpet for the Beehive Ball this Saturday (where you'll bet I'll be there in a vintage formal dress, walking around the party with my giant camera), and tonight, we've got a karaoke party with some of our closest friends. You can expect MC and I to deliver our signature duets of Under Pressure and Endless Love

What are you doing this weekend?

  8. I just made skirt that is VERY similar in length and fit, and even in pattern (save a difference in color). This outfit... well, you can do no wrong.
