dressed up like a lady: Big spender.

Jan 12, 2012

Big spender.

Does this look like a good outfit for forking over large sums of money? Because that's what I did this morning. In order to speed things along, we wire transferred our down payment for our house to the title company today, even though we don't actually close on the house until tomorrow.

Blouse: Random TJMaxx no-name
Jeans: Blank
Shoes: Seychelles
Purse: Dooney & Bourke, thrifted

We just stopped by the bank on the way to work and completed the transfer in about five minutes. By the time we were grabbing coffee, I was holding a print-out receipt for my entire down payment! There's something kind of funny and anti-climactic about it, because traditionally, one of the hallmarks of closing on a house is showing up to the meeting with a paper check representing (most likely) the majority of your liquid assets. But it's actually a relief to have that part taken care of -- because it's one less thing to worry about!

Thanks again for all the sweet and loving emails and comments! More updates to come very soon.

  1. Big hugs on the purchase of your first home! I am so excited for you... I remember feeling all of these things three short years ago when we purchased our home. You will create so many wonderful memories so quickly life before this house will seem like eons ago!!

    Blessings!!

  3. Congrats on the house! That's SO exciting. Can't help but feel a twinge of jealousy for people who get to decorate multiple rooms. Living in NYC, that will probably never happen for me. Yours is going to be gorgeous! (Kinda like you...)
