dressed up like a lady: Phat cat

Phat cat

Dress: Modcloth
Crazy open-toe booties: Baby Phat
Cardi, necklace: Vintage via the Getup
Sunnies: Thrifted

Maybe this is one of those stories that doesn't really make sense when you tell it to someone else, but I partly chose these weird shoes because, in my sluggish, early-morning state, the mnemonic quality of Baby Phat sounded pleasantly like Baby Cat, which is what MC calls me as he coaxes me out of bed for work in the morning with far more sweetness and patience than I deserve. As an INTENSE insomniac, who eventually and after much difficulty enters a deep, deep state of hyper-sleep, only for it to be wake-up time 4 hours later, I have spent most of my child and adult life coasting on my hyperactivity during the day, even after getting less than half of a recommended night's sleep. But as you can imagine, with the wedding coming up in just 11 days, my inability to settle down and sleep at night is reaching a high point.

So as MC draws me gently out of the sensory deprivation chamber of my eye mask and ear plugs, lovingly pulling me back into the waking world just a couple hours into my restful state, and always with this silly pet name (which, not surprisingly, began as a pet name for our cat), I once again relish being the luckiest girl in the world. Enough so that I celebrate it with my footwear.

    1. I would have thought I'm more like a sack of potatoes with a scowl painted on it than the baby kitten in this video. But I guess that's just another reason I'm marrying you. ;)

  5. You two are adorable.

And I'm still drooling over these heels. It sucks that they don't seem to be available for purchase anymore :(
