dressed up like a lady: I (Snake) New York.

Oct 1, 2012

I (Snake) New York.

 Tee shirt: Tee Fury
Faux thigh high tights: Jonathan Aston via tightsplease
Shorts: Blank
Big, giant platform wedge heels: Christian Robertson
Sunnies, scarf: Target
Cropped Blazer: Urban Renewal

This outfit is actually from last week, but it's quite fitting for a post, since MC and I caught a bit of a cold, and decided to spend today at home, happily tucked into a pile of blankets together watching action movies. Escape from New York is, of course, among the best of all time, since Snake Plissken is one of of the most badass action heroes to lead any wonderfully ridiculous narrative through one nitroglycerine fueled catharsis after another. He's on the shortlist of characters I've most blissfully wanted to be since childhood.

And by the way, how is it that I still get befuddled looks when I tell people that? Is it just because I'm not a man?  Because, you know, I'm not a cyclops or an ex-glider pilot or a convict sent in to save the president from certain death on the prison-island of Manhattan, but those aren't hindrances from enjoying the action fantasy either.

  3. Haha, that is totally one of my Dad's favorite movies! He tried to wrangle me into watching it, but I slithered out of it. (Terrible pun intended.)
