dressed up like a lady: Good things come to those who wait (Thanks, Mom!)

Good things come to those who wait (Thanks, Mom!)

My mom bought this sweater in the mid 90s, and I spent most of the next decade asking to borrow it. Ordinarily exceeding giving, she kindly refused on the grounds that it's made of a ridiculously porous variety of silk (apparently), and stains if you look at it wrong.

Cut to last weekend, when MC and I were over for Thanksgiving. It turned out Mom isn't as attached to it as she was 15 years ago and she asked if I still wanted it! Lucky for me, my giving mom takes insanely good care of her garments, and it looks like it did the day she bought it. I, however, am just as clumsy as I was at 13. Thankfully, she also taught me how to use Woolite. ;)

Silk pullover: Ann Taylor via my Mom
Leggings: BDG
Booties: Steve Madden
Scarf: Asos
Angora blend socks: Cabot New England Vermont

Meanwhile, it's getting harder and harder to remove my big, dumb coat every morning for photos. Won't be long now until we move to inside pics!

  1. Love love love this WHOLE outfil Cammila! Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to part with that sweater either, and those boots-gasp!

  2. Such a cute sweater! I'm digging the boots as well.

  3. cozy sweater, i've been looking for a good white sweater for the winter,
the pink scarf makes the sweater pop - cool boots as usual.
