dressed up like a lady: Manic Pixie Dream Bitches - The Video!

Manic Pixie Dream Bitches - The Video!

It seems like every time I post about something film related on here, it ends up being a week where we need somebody to shoot a new video for work. OH GEE, TWIST MY ARM!!! ;)

  d

Basing this video more on the concept and less on the clothes gave me the opportunity to bring in characters I hadn't talked about before, from movies like 500 Days of Summer and High Fidelity!

So hopefully it's a fun video to watch. :)

  1. It is fun! And thoughtful. Camera loves you, baby. Too bad the vid isn't actually in 3D. See what I did there?

  3. I submit to the MPDG column "Leeloo" from The Fifth Element. Unless someone else has already brought it up in which that case...damn! Great video as usual.

  5. great job, cammila. so true: these guys are just romance-obsessed ego trippers, projected their idea of the perfect woman onto the hot, edgy,
unique-ish [signaled usually by clothes and hair] he runs into

and rachel is right - leelo from 5th element does kind of fit in, as well
as 'sexually liberated' red heads in any given soap opera, who rule with
wild, take charge sex [&hothot outfits- dresses] and intense personality
disorders, that exist to make her seem vulnerable and needy which of course
plays into his I-and-only-I-must-save-Her [from herself].

  6. I enjoy listening you speak, instead of reading you :)
a great topic, and you look great, too. I like the idea of some kind of a detailed report on the movies. too often I hear people commenting only what you can see on the surface of the story

  7. It's so cool to hear you voice. I have enjoyed reading your MPDG posts as I have always enjoyed these types of movies. I think you analysis is spot on.

  8. This is so great and true I had to re-blog. Seriously, you really hit the nail on the head, I can't stand the MPDG ideal. So many people don't catch on to what is happening in these films, so I really appreciate this post.
