dressed up like a lady: Oh yeah, uh, Happy New Year!

Oh yeah, uh, Happy New Year!

I guess I'm running a bit behind. But I can only assume that if you're checking this blog, you must be super duper interested in what kind of cutesy, obnoxiously PDA shenanigans we were up to on NYE, right????

Velvet mini dress: "Vintage" from my sophomore year homecoming dance
Sheer star tights: Asos
Heels: Jessica Simpson
Rhinestone earrings: Vintage, Christmas present from mom

We went to the wedding of my awesome friends Holly and Brian, and it was wonderful and tearjerking and everything you'd expect. They're some pretty beautiful people and so was their wedding. But we weren't able to stay very long into the partying afterward, hence, not many pictures were taken. So MC got these quick and dark outfit pictures after we got home.

Once again, we rang in the stroke of midnight from the vantage point of our floor.  :)

On past New Years Eves, we've watched some excellent NYE movies, like 200 Cigarettes and When Harry Met Sally. But apparently, we've officially run out of decent ones, because we tried watching a couple New Years themed movies we haven't seen before, like Strange Days (OMG what a piece of shit) and just ended up laughing at the crappiness until the novelty wore off. We ended up watching Top Gun, for some reason, and having a big long conversation about the use of exuberance in filmmaking. It was magical.

I also got this shot of my makeup before I took it all off. These are my favorite false eyelases -- they're from Shu Uemura and I think I might have finally worn them out completely. Time for some new ones.

Anyway, thanks for sharing 2013 with us. Here's to a kickass new year.

  1. I saw your dress and said, I HAD THAT DRESS! I love that it's not just vintage (which then it very well COULD be my old dress) but one you wore back then. Looks fab, and quite on trend with the '90s themes going on right now!

    1. Ha! That's awesome! I am sure you rocked this dress with perfection, just like you would if you wore it today. Though I'm sure it speaks to some lack of character about me that I'm happy to wear "retro" trends that I already wore the first time around. But I can't help it -- I love this shit! ;D

Thanks for being one of my heroes and generally favorite people the interwebs has given me the privilege to know, Alison. Happy 2014.

    1. Thanks, Nicola! One of these days I'll actually get good at applying falsies, so I won't take 15 minutes to put them on! ;)

Happy 2014! Keep making the internet a better place, okay? ;)
