Anniversary Dress

Epic vintage 70's maxi dress: Anniversary present from MC
70's Wooden high heeled sandals: Vintage via Etsy
Cowboy belt: Vintage via The Getup
Aviators: TJ Maxx

I started lusting over this amazing, full-sweep 70's maxi dress on Ebay like a year ago. It would pop up in my "suggested" items again and again, until last month, when MC decided to give it to me (along with a LOT of other gifts he chose to spoil me with) for our second wedding anniversary. I guess the best I can do in order to not be spoiled completely rotten by this kind of thoughtful, loving treatment is to just be loving in return. In fairness, MC does make that part really easy, and not just because he's such a thoughtful gift giver. :)

    1. Thanks, Alison! I'm so glad that it fits! After longing for it for like a year, it would be pretty ironic if it didn't fit. :)

  2. I like your thoughts about just being loving to the giver of excellent gifts. I also have the luxury of being married to a thoughtful and talented gift giver, which has been the source of immense delight over the years. The hidden downside is that, ten years in, the burden of trying to measure up to such quality gift giving is starting to take its subtle toll. I mean, I give pretty great gifts, but sometimes it feels like my efforts pale in comparison. Your post reminded me that the the thing the gift giver really wants is to see the recipient light up with glee and then be showered with love, which I sure can do (and which you also obviously have down). Lovely post, lovely dress. And a belated happy anniversary!

    1. Thanks for this awesome comment, Sandy, I'm so glad somebody knows what I'm talking about. I totally think of myself as a really excellent gift giver, but the sheer selflessness of MC's gift giving can make me worry I'm not giving enough myself if I don't remember the principle you're describing. All we really have to do is truly, deeply appreciate the gift and the person behind it. :)
